  • What application should I use with the Linus® Smart Lock L2?

    Yale Home is the application to use on your mobile phone. The app is available on

     Apple AppStore or Google Play.

    Download the Yale App from the App Store or Google Play depending on your device.

    Once you have downloaded the Yale Home app you will need to click on Create an account or sign in if you already have an account.

    The Linus® Smart Lock L2 will automatically power on when inserting the battery. 

    Note - ensure the battery is fully charged first.

  • How to Use Auto-Unlock for iOS

    Auto-Unlock is a feature that automatically unlocks your door when you arrive home, without having to reach for your phone or your keys. If you're an iOS user, this article has more information about the Auto-Unlock feature.

  • How to Set Access Schedules

    Yale Smart Locks have 3 access types: Always, Temporary, and Recurring. You can choose between three different access types when adding guests to your Smart Lock.

    You can modify access types for your existing guests in the Guests List or set them when you invite new guests.

  • Apple Watch and Yale Home

    If you have an Apple Watch and a Yale Smart Home product used with WiFi and the Yale Home App, you can use your Apple Watch to lock and unlock. Open the Yale Home App on the device. Tap the green lock circle to unlock the door. Conversely, tap the red lock circle to lock it again.

    PLEASE NOTE: The Yale Home Apple Watch App is available to Lock Owners only. Auto-Unlock does not work with Apple Watch. Remote operations are not possible.

Troubleshooting

  • How do I Factory Reset my lock?

    Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset on your lock:

    1. On your phone, open the Yale Home App and go to the lock circle screen, which is the screen that shows you whether your door is locked or unlocked.
    2. Select the Settings menu (gear icon).
    3. Select the device you wish to reset.
    4. Scroll to factory reset.
    5. Select "Reset Lock".

  • Updating Lock Firmware

    Firmware updates are released periodically to help improve connection speed, connection reliability, motor controls, and Auto-Lock.

    Firmware updates begin automatically when the lock owner connects to their lock. You can still operate your lock via the app during the update. Firmware updates can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Be sure to keep your phone near your lock, with the Yale app open throughout the whole update. 

  • Trouble Connecting to Lock

    If you are having trouble connecting to your lock using the Yale Home App, the following troubleshooting may help:

    - Trying to connect remotely
    - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Turn off and on
    - Force quit the Yale Home App
    - Trying to connect over Bluetooth

  • What do I do if the Yale Home App says the lock is unlocked when it’s actually locked?

    If the Yale Home App shows that your lock is locked when it’s really unlocked (and vice versa), chances are it needs to be re-calibrated. Please initiate re-calibration from the settings tab in your Yale Home app. You must be within Bluetooth range of the lock to re-calibrate it.

    PLEASE NOTE: Incorrect lock status may also happen if the lock is being set up or tested on a flat surface.

  • How easy is it to install?

    The Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2 is designed to offer hassle-free installation. As part of this, there is no drilling or damage to the door, with step-by-step instructions provided. (less than 3 minutes on a compatible cylinder).

  • What methods can be used to operate the Linus® Smart Lock L2?

    The Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2 can be operated via the Yale Home App, you can allow App access to guests via virtual keys (the properties listed in the keychain).

    Pin Code access is possible if a Yale Smart Keypad is installed.

    Access is also possible via the Yale Dot, and for emergency situations, a mechanical key can be used.

  • How will I know if the batteries in my Smart Lock need to be replaced?

    When the batteries hit 20%, you will be sent a low battery email notification and there will be a low battery icon within the app.

    PLEASE NOTE: You must operate the lock over Bluetooth or remotely via WiFi. Operating your lock manually will not stop the low-battery notifications.

  • What is the expected battery life of the Linus® Smart Lock L2?

    The battery lifetime is dependent on the number of turns per locking, the smoothness of the door opening, the number of openings per day, and signal strength.

    Based on normal usage, the battery will last up to 6 months.
