Getting Started

  • How to install and setup the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera?

    The Yale Smart Outdoor Camera can be placed on surface or be wall mounted with the supplied fittings. 

    In the Yale Home app, go to the settings menu (accessed by pressing the small gear icon) for each Yale Smart camera, scroll down to installation guides to view the in-app videos and images that show you to mount your cameras.

  • What application should I use with the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera?

    Yale Home is the application to use on your mobile phone. The app is available on Apple AppStore or Google Play.

    Download the Yale App from the App Store or Google Play depending on your device.

    Once you have downloaded the Yale Home app you will need to click on create an account, or sign in if your already have an account.

  • Can I use the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera with an Ethernet cable?

    No, the cameras only have Wi-Fi connectivity and only compatible with 2.4GHz networks.

Everyday Use

  • How would I play back video event footage?

    All event footage is displayed in your Yale Home apps Activity feed,  scroll to the date and time, select the video and play

  • How do I communicate via my Yale Smart Outdoor Camera?

    Select your camera from the Yale Home App favourites or camera list page. This will then open the live stream as illustrated below, from here you select the speaker icon to hear or mute audio. Select the microphone icon to mute or unmute the microphone.

  • How many users can I share access to my Camera with?

    There is no limit to the number of users that you can share access to your camera with.

  • How do I restart my Yale Smart Outdoor Camera?

    You can do this from within the settings menu in the Yale Home app or you can do this via the camera itself. 

  • I have forgotten my user / account password to the Yale Home app?

    You can reset your password in the app by choosing the Forgot Password function on the login screen.

  • My Yale Smart Outdoor camera keeps disconnecting from my Wi-Fi network?

    Try to move your camera and router closer to each other. If you are using a mesh network, please make sure that the camera is connecting to the closest mesh node.

  • Does the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera have night vision?

     

    Yes, night vision is up to a range of 6 meters.

     

     

     

     

     

  • How would I check the battery level of my camera?

    The battery level is displayed in the Settings section of the Yale Home app under device information, this is displayed as a percentage.

  • What is the Battery charge time?

    It will take approximately 5-6 hours to fully charge the Yale Smart Outdoor camera with flat battery (using a 2A charger, with 1A charger it can take about 1 hr longer)
