We are excited to announce the launch of the next generation of our flagship Linus® product, the Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2!
The product launch will be accompanied by our “Security Made Simple” campaign. The campaign dramatizes some of the behaviors and methods people resort to feel safe, such as installing traps to protect their homes, leaving lights on or training their guard dogs. With our new range of Yale smart security products, you no longer need to worry about home safety. Control over your home security will be made simple thanks to the smarter design and innovative features of these products coupled with the Yale Home app.
Linus® Smart Lock L2
Designed to increase convenience in people's lives while not reducing security, our new Smart Lock combines cutting-edge design, functionality, and innovation in one product.
What has changed between models? On the surface, Linus® L2 features an updated design, developed by the award-winning industrial design studio Bould Design. Fred Bould is an acclaimed designer who has worked on many other notable smart products, such as the Nest thermostat. Its improved sleek and narrow industrial design and durable metal housing will perfectly complement any home's architectural design, from more traditional to the most contemporary.
The lock offers you an easy installation experience right out of the box and can adapt to most cylinders/locks. Regardless of whether you rent or own, it can be quickly mounted on your door with no modifications needed and removed without leaving any marks. Security made simple with Linus® L2
The key advantage of a smart lock is ease of use and stronger security. Easy to operate, faster and stronger than the previous generation of Linus®, with Linus® L2 you will receive a world-class lock experience. The size of the device has also been reduced, yet we have still ensured that it fits over larger keys to offer you more convenient and faster installation options. The Activity Feed, Smart Alerts, and notifications, within the Yale Home app, can help you track when the door to your home opens and closes, as well as any registered friends or family that enter. You can bring the magic convenience of keyless smart home access to your home by easily sharing virtual keys or codes with trusted individuals, Auto-Lock your doors as they are closed when you leave or return home, and then Auto-Unlock your door as you approach with geofencing technology. Linus® L2 provides you with a more convenient and safer experience when returning home after a long day, so you never have to experience the hassle of losing your keys ever again!
What else is new in the next generation of Yale smart locks? Using the Yale Home app you can now easily schedule your device to lock or unlock at certain times of the day, so you can easily come and go during the day but have maximum security at night. This simple-to-use feature allows you to create a personalised home security schedule for your lock to follow for additional security and convenience. The lock can also just operate from the latch during the day to best suit your needs.
The smart lock now includes built-in Wi-Fi. This means you no longer have to buy an additional Connect Wi-Fi Bridge to benefit from remote functionalities, such as checking to see if the door is locked while you are away or knowing when your kids arrive home from school. Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi access, these functions will be possible as soon as the device is unboxed. saving you extra installation time and money! You can also add accessories such as the Yale Smart Keypad, or the new Yale Dot® to enjoy a smarter, more secure experience when it comes to locking and unlocking your home.
With Linus® Smart Lock L2, you can tap the Yale Dot® with your phone to unlock or lock the door, without opening the Yale Home app. This means that you can keep a Yale Dot® on your car dashboard to unlock their door quickly if it is raining, or place it at the stairwell and open the lock as you arrive on your floor for even more convenience.
Linus L2® has made several significant improvements to make the device more sustainable. The new smart lock uses less material in its production and is 20% smaller than the previous generation. The smart lock is also powered by a rechargeable battery pack that provides up to 6 months of power on a single charge, with notifications sent when the battery levels get low to ensure that homes are always protected.
Our Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2 gives you the freedom to design the perfect smart lock experience for you using existing integrations with leading voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and major Smart Home brands. The product will be Matter-compatible over Wi-Fi via a firmware update later this year which will bring Apple Home, amongst others, to the Linus® L2.
