Today, we’ve launched Linus®, a keyless door lock designed to secure and simplify lives.
Our new Linus® Smart Lock allows you to lock and unlock your door – no matter where you are. Powered by advanced software and the intuitive Yale Access mobile app, Linus® allows for keyless entry and gives users the ability to see who comes and when, grant virtual guest keys, and check whether the door is open or closed.
Recognized for its sleek, intelligent design and best in class materials at the prestigious Red Dot Awards, European Design Awards and The Ambient Awards at CES Las Vegas earlier this year, Linus® is a perfect starting point to the stylish and smart home of today!
For example, the auto-lock functionality can automatically lock the door when you leave for the day, either immediately after closing or after a set amount of time via the Yale Access mobile app. When you return home and walk up to your door, auto-lock will unlock it again thanks to geo-fencing, eliminating the need to fumble around with keys.
Now, you can say goodbye to worrying whether you forgot to lock your door before leaving in the morning. And even if you have a doubt, you can check the status of the door any time via the Yale Access app. For extra convenience, Linus® features DoorSense™ technology which will tell you whether the door is closed or if anything unexpected happens, like it being left ajar.
With 180 years of expertise, security is our priority. This is why Linus® uses a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology encryption, as well as AES 128 bit and TLS encryptions, aka bank grade security for user data. If your smartphone gets lost, the Yale Access app and all virtual keys can be disabled at any time. The Yale Access account is protected by 2-factor authentication, which means that in addition to your password, the system will check your identity based on either an email address or phone number.
The intuitive Yale Access mobile app itself lets you access and control your smart lock remotely with a single touch of a button on your smartphone. Simply connect it to the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge to share access with trusted guests, view activity, receive notifications or lock and unlock the door from anywhere in the world. The addition of the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge will also enable integrations with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, the Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit, as well as top hosting platforms like AirBnb. As part of the Yale Access ecosystem, Linus® works with other products in the range, including the Yale Smart Safes, Smart Cabinet Locks and Smart Alarms.
Linus® offers you the added flexibility of a smartphone or Apple Watch becoming a key with a simple tap to lock or unlock the door. Forgot your phone? Type a PIN code into the Yale Smart Keypad to unlock it with just one touch! Already recognized for offering an outstanding user experience, Linus® has been nominated for the 2020 UX Design Awards from a pool of several hundred entries across 34 countries.
Together with Yale’s trusted partners, Linus® and the Yale Access app have the potential to open up a range of unique possibilities including in-home delivery, short term rental and services like cleaning or babysitting - all of which will simplify our already time pressured lives.
