Getting Started

  • Does the camera work with 5Ghz WIFI network?

    No, the camera only supports 2.4GHz.

  • How do I set the camera up first time?

    • Plug the camera using the charger provided. Download Yale View App, register yourself as a new user.
    • Press the + button.
    • Scan the QR code on the back of the camera
  • Can I connect this camera via Ethernet?

    No, it's not possible to pair the camera using an ethernet cable.

  • Which App do I need to use for my IP Camera?

    For your IP camera, you will need to download the Yale View App. Available for Android and iOS.

Everyday Use

  • What alert will I get if activity is detected?

    If you enable Motion Detection on the camera and app notifications on your phone you will receive a notification when activity is detected. Events are also recorded in the Messages tab.

  • How do I capture images/video?

    While you are watching the video feed from your camera in the Yale View app you can use the on-screen buttons to capture still images or record video to your phone.

Troubleshooting

  • My camera will not connect to my network?

    Turn off all your safe web protection on your router, for example with Virgin you can do this by logging onto your account and turning both Virus Safe and Child safe. Then restart the connecting process gain.

    Once connected turn the protection back on.

  • I cannot connect to the app

    Please check that you have downloaded the correct App – please search for Yale View (the camera is not compatible with Yale CCTV or Yale Home View Apps).

    Please ensure that your router is connected to a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network and not 5ghz. Press the WPS button on your router and then the one on your camera. Wait a short while and then try to reconnect.

  • I have forgotten my user account / password

    You can use “Forgot password?” from the login screen of the Yale View app to reset your account password.

    If you have forgotten your user name you will need to email the camera serial number to Customer Support  we will then reply with the user name.

  • Can’t connect to a camera or DVR over 4G (Android)

    - Open phones Settings app
    - Tap on search at the top of the screen
    - Search for “APN protocol”
    - Set “APN protocol” to “IPv6”

    If the users phone does not support the APN protocol setting it will not appear in the search results.

FAQ

  • Can more than one user login to the same camera?

    Only one device can be logged in to the app at any one time. If you change the device you are viewing on, you will simply need to log in to the app again.

  • Can I play-back images/video?

    Yes, in the Yale View app you can playback recordings from the SD card in the “View record history” screen. You can also see captured files on your iPhone in the Local Files in the Me tab.

  • Do these cameras have two-way audio?

    Yes they do, you can listen or talk-back with the built-in microphone and speaker.

  • Can I talk to people through the camera?

    Yes, in the Yale View app you can use the Microphone button to turn two-way audio on.
