  • Please take the deadlatch off the inside of the door, you should now see the tailbar coming from the back of the Keyless Digital Deadlatch.

Please use a correct credential on the lock and you should see the following happen:

    • The Lock will scroll and play a fanfare (if the screen shows a flashing cross and plays a beeping noise this indicates the credential is wrong)
    • You should hear a faint noise of the motor engaging
    • By turning the thumbturn on the Yale Digital Deadlatch Upgrade Kit you should see the tailbar moving

If this is the case it is likely that the tailbar is not cut to the correct length for the deadlatch. Please check this against the deadlatch instructions.

  • This could be due to a couple of reasons:

    • If it has always done this since installation, it could be that when the tailbar was cut it is too long and is getting caught on the inside of the deadlatch (especially if there is also friction when the thumbturn is turned). Please check that the tailbar length matches the specified length on the deadlatch manual.
    • Please also check that the relock has not been turned off in the settings. To do this please refer to “How do I turn auto relock on/off?” question.
  • The product uses four alkaline AA batteries. The batteries will last for approximately 1 year, based on the lock being used 10 times a day.
