  • We recommend the lock to be installed by a professional locksmith or as an advanced DIY.

  • The YDM3109A/4109A lock can hold up to 99 key tags.

  • There is no limit to the number of locks paired to one key tag.

  • Most cards can be programmed to the lock, such as compatible Mifare cards/tags. However, some cards may be restricted, and pairing is not possible.

  • There are 3 access solutions, PIN code (4 to 10 digits), proximity key tag, and key override.

  • Yes. The YDM3109A/4109A lock can be paired to Yale Home App using the Yale Home Module.

  • In Normal mode, you can register user codes, key tags, visitor codes, etc. In Advanced mode, the YDM3109A/4109A lock has the same functionalities as in Normal mode, but you can additionally register the Yale Home Module to utilise the Yale Home App.

  • No, the YDM3109A/4109A lock must be in Advanced Mode. If you have set up PIN codes and registered user codes in Normal mode, then move to Advanced mode and register the Yale Home Module, you will lose all previously registered user access. We suggest setting up Yale Home App first, then registering different user access.

  • By pressing the “i” button under the batteries.

    If the YDM3109A/4109A lock is in “Normal mode,” the keypad will show all numbers.

    If the YDM3109A/4109A lock is in “Advanced mode,” the keypad will show numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, in the shape of an X.

  • The YDM3109A/4109A lock has 2 lock modes, Automatic and Manual. You can adjust the mode via the centre button below the batteries, inside the battery cover.

  • Yes, the Safe Handle feature is built into the door handle. When enabled, the button on the inside handle must be depressed for the lever to unlock the door.

  • The YDM3109A/4109A lock is powered with 4 alkaline batteries. When the battery is low, the lock will sound an alarm and display a signal on the keypad. If the batteries are completely flat, the lock can be powered using a 9V battery.

  • Yes, an alarm will go off if anyone attempts to damage the lock or force the door open.

  • When Privacy Mode or Internal Forced Lock Mode is ON, the keypad is disabled, and the door can only be opened from the outside by using the key.

  • After the door is locked you can do it by contacting and holding a registered key tag on the keypad for 5 seconds or entering the pin code and press the # button for 3 seconds. The YDM3109A/4109A lock will sound 3 beeps to confirm that the Forced Lock Mode is ON. If the door is opened from inside or with the key, the alarm will sound. 

  • Yes, Yale can provide spare cylinders with keys. This is a straightforward replacement solution.

  • Yes, to factory reset your lock, refer to the YDM3109A/4109A user guide.

  • No, the relock time of the YDM3109A/4109A lock is set from factory and cannot be changed.

  • No, each cylinder has a unique key profile.

  • Yes, you can order key blanks and a take them to a locksmith to cut them.

  • No, the YDM3109A/4109A lock is designed for residential entry doors. Not to be used where the internal escutcheon will be exposed to outdoor elements.

Troubleshooting

  • When registering the Yale Home Module, the lock will be updated and only the Master Code is preserved. You need to register the user codes, key tags, and fingerprints using the Yale Home App.

  • You need to order Cylinder and Key replacements. Please get in contact with our Customer Service team.

  • There are 2 different ways to cut the tail bar, one for the YDM3109A/4109A series and one for the YDM7220 series. Please refer to the product manual of each different model before cutting the tail bars.
