Five most common questions about Troubleshooting Yale SR Smart Home Alarm

  • I can’t register my Smart Home Alarm Range System to the app?

    You have 3 hours from the time you turn on and connect the hub to the Internet to register the app.

  • I haven’t set up my app within the 1-hour setup window. What should I do?

    Disconnect the power supply from the hub, and switch off the backup battery. Wait 10 minutes and reboot.

  • My keypad will arm but not disarm the system?

    This is because the keypad hasn’t been initialized. Please remove the keypad from the system in the device settings menu, then initialize the keypad as follows:

    1. Press panic button A, then 0000
    2. The LED will flash continuously on the Key Pad
    3. Press panic button A, followed by 7
    4. Press disarm twice

    Re-add the Key Pad to the system in the device settings menu in the normal learn mode way

  • Why are my devices not learning into my Smart Home Alarm system?

    This could be due to a number of reasons:

    • Compatibility
    • Out of range
    • Faulty device
    • Poor Internet connection
  • Why does my alarm trigger as soon as I enter my property?

    This is because your settings via the app are set to do this as a default. To change this, please see the images below.

  • Please ensure the battery is inserted in the correct manner, see the presentation below.

     

  • This is because the keypad hasn’t been initialized. Please remove the keypad from the system in the device settings menu, then initialize the keypad as follows:

    1. Press panic button A, then 0000
    2. The LED will flash continuously on the Key Pad
    3. Press panic button A, followed by 7
    4. Press disarm twice

    Re-add the Key Pad to the system in the device settings menu in the normal learn mode way

  • This could be due to a number of reasons:

    • Compatibility
    • Out of range
    • Faulty device
    • Poor Internet connection
  • This is because your settings via the app are set to do this as default and the sensors are set to Burglar. You can change these in the Yale Home app, set these sensors to Entry Zone.

  • Please press and hold for a least 5 seconds to activate.

  • The PIR goes into sleep mode for two minutes. Please vacate the area covered by the PIR for a full 2 minutes before testing.

  • This means there has been an alarm activation, or there is a fault in the system. Please fully arm the system, then disarm. If the fault light is still on please go into the app and check if there are any faults with any of the devices.

  • The tamper spring at the back of the siren is not pushed in far enough. The siren is a plastic box that expands and contract s with heat and cold – it will move very slightly (less than 1mm sometimes) which moves the spring causing a tamper fault.

  • Please ensure supervision is disabled in the settings app.

  • Check all wires are connected and your router is connected to the internet, power down the hub including the backup battery and the router, then turn the hub and router back on. Try again to connect.

  • This is because the PIR Image camera isn’t in the setting mode. Please remove the batteries and wait for 1 minute. Re-insert the batteries again and put the hub into learn mode. Press and hold the camera PIR learn button for 10 seconds until the camera flashes.

    Continue to hold down for a further 5 seconds, the Smart Hub will bleep and then you will see the camera appear as a device on the app.
