Everyday Use with the Yale View App

FAQ

  • In the Yale View app select the camera group icon from the device page.

    This will open all current existing camera groups, select add group.

    Give the new group a name ( For example Garage), you can now add and remove cameras from the group using the plus and minus icons. Press the tick icon to save the group. 

     

  • When selecting a camera from the my devices list, you will be taken to the live view dashboard, the below explains each feature within this view. 

    Single Camera live view:

    Multi-Camera live view:

     

  • In the Yale View app, select View History Record from the camera live feed page.


    You will then be taken to the History Record menu, this dashboard is explained below. 

  • To find your camera settings menu, select the me icon in the Yale View dashboard, select my device, from the my device list, select the camera you want to change the settings for.

    The settings are camera model-dependent, some settings may not appear in your Yale View app. 

     

  • Your camera can be set to record when motion is detected, a clip of approximately 14 seconds will captured. 

    To view the recorded clip, select the message bell icon, in the Yale View dashboard, this will open the notifications message page and list all of the available cameras that have recorded motion detection clips. 

    Select the camera from the list for which you want to view the video clips. This will then open the list of all the motion detection clips for the selected camera.

    Select the clip you want to view and the playback screen will open.

     

  • To find your Yale View profile settings, select the me icon in the Yale View dashboard.

    Tap on the profile picture and name, this will open your account info page.

    From here you can:

    • Add/Remove a profile image
    • Add/Remove a nickname.
    • Change your profile region. 
    • Change the email address linked to your Yale View account. 

     

  • To find your Yale View in app settings, select the me icon in the Yale View dashboard, then tap on settings.

    Below you can find an explanation of each setting. 

     

  • In the Yale View app, select the me icon in the Yale View dashboard, then tap on settings, account and security, select delete account.

    Press on "I want to delete this account, enter the verification code sent to your associated email account, and press OK. 

    You will be logged out of the Yale View app and your account will now be deleted. 

    You will also be sent an account delete confirmation email.

     

  • You can integrate your Yale View app to work with Alexa, this is done via the Alexa app. 

    Please follow the example guide below to link your Yale View account to your Alexa account. 

    Once added, you can see your Yale View camera feed on your compatible Alexa devices. 

     

  • You can integrate your Yale View app to work with Google Assistant, this is done via the Google app. 

    Please follow the example guide below to link your Yale View account to your Google account. 

    Once added, you can see your Yale View camera feed on your compatible Google devices. 

     

  • If you are logged into the Yale View app, remember your current password and want to change your password.

    Go to settings, account and security, change password, enter your current password followed by your new password. 

    If you have forgotten your password, press forgot your password on the Yale View app login screen, enter your email address, set a new password and enter the verification code sent to your email. Press ok to complete the password reset process.
