Yale wraps up another exciting year at IFA 2022

We just wrapped up another exciting year at IFA Berlin, one of the world's leading trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances. Attracting exhibitors and buyers from over 130 countries worldwide, the event is held at the Messe Berlin Exhibition Grounds between the 2nd and 6th of September.

Our Yale exhibition was located at stand 116 in hall 5.2a, which made up the Smart Home section of the event. We were thrilled to be there in person to announce all of our exciting news, including brand new product launches and partnerships!

This year, our theme for IFA revolved around a smart, connected and safe home designed for the busy every day. This theme was showcased with the help of our impressive stall, a reconstruction of a smart home that journalists and visitors alike could enter and explore! 

This immersive experience highlighted the many ways in which our smart home products can make your life run more smoothly, drawing the attention of all event attendees due to the model home’s interactivity. The walk-through smart home allowed us to demonstrate the top product use cases to journalists and consumers in attendance, and presented all the benefits of a connected smart home ecosystem. Granting participants the ability to experience first-hand the variety of ways in which our smart home devices can add value and convenience to their daily lives.

As a brand with 182 years of security expertise, we put interoperability at the forefront. This was a recurring theme at IFA, as we announced our new products, partnerships, and services that will provide a more seamless and connected user experience for our consumers. The key announcements included an introduction of our new Smart Storage line featuring a new Smart Safe and Smart Cabinet Lock. We also announced new accessories for the Sync Smart Home Alarm and a new range of CCTV kits.

IFA isn’t just about new products though! This year, we also introduced upgrades to the products you already know and love. New integrations between Yale Smart Home Alarms and Linus^® Smart Lock will automatically switch off your alarm once the door is unlocked, eliminating the risk of a false alarm. Integrations with the indoor Pan & Tilt camera will then put your camera into privacy mode when the alarm is deactivated. Providing you with full privacy within your home.

To top it off, two new partnerships were announced at this year’s event. Our integration with Somfy, the specialist in connected equipment for the home, will allow you to manage your smart lock and entire smart home from a single device. We have also partnered with DHL eCommerce Solutions Sweden, the global logistics company, to launch our new revolutionary in-home package delivery service as part of Yale InHome. The service will be available to our customers in a select number of Swedish cities this autumn, with the view to expand it into other markets in 2023.

The response to our announcements at IFA has been overwhelmingly positive, with customers excited for when they can get their hands on these new devices to test them out for themselves! Journalists have also been complimentary of our new products and partnerships, eagerly anticipating our upcoming releases and the next additions to the Yale Access range.

Our creative stall impressed the media and consumers in attendance. Throughout the event, our spokespeople have given 25+ interviews with journalists from top media outlets such as The Verge, Spiegel, Inside Digital, FrAndroid, Les Numériques, Tecnoandroid, Lyd & Billede and more! Covering everything from our upcoming releases to our latest and greatest product updates.

IFA 2022 was a huge success for our entire team! We thoroughly enjoyed being able to return to large-scale trade events and were delighted to get the opportunity to speak directly with consumers and press onsite. We look forward to more events like this in the future!
