Support for Yale Fire Safe

Getting Started

  • Please refer to the installation manual included with your product which you also can find in our Download Center, the Safe can be secured to the Floor using the bolts provided. We recommend securing into brick or concrete to fix securely.

  • This safe can only be floor-mounted due to the fire-protective material inside.

  • Press the programming button inside the safe, near the battery compartment. Type in your new code which can be between 4-12 digits. Then, press the programming button to complete.

    IMPORTANT

The Fire Safe is NOT supplied with an over-ride key

It is therefore important to insert the batteries and set the user code, following the instructions supplied, before closing the door.

If the door is accidentally closed before inserting the batteries, connect a 9v battery to the battery port on the outside of the Safe.  Whilst holding this in place, touch the screen and enter the pre-set factory code 1,2,3,4 and press the key button.

Now set the user code following the instructions in the user manual.

FAQ

  • The Fire Safe has a manual override method, in order to gain access in cases such as this you first need to apply a +9V battery to the two terminals located underneath the dial. To do this: 1) Hold the battery on to the terminals, whilst keeping the 9V battery held on with your other hand 2) Touch the digital screen to ‘wake up’ the safe’s display 3) Enter your code in the normal manner and the safe will open. Once the safe is open please replace the batteries.

  • All Yale Fire Safes are preset with factory ‘default’ codes. This code can be obtained by emailing Yale Customer Services. To process your email request, you will need to quote the Fire Safe Serial Number (located underneath the digital keypad, usually in the format ‘E1XXXXXX’ or ‘TS…’), your name, address, telephone number, proof of purchase, and identification displaying your name and address (for example, a driving license).

Your six-digit factory passcode will be emailed to you within 48 hours, together with instructions on how to use this code to gain access to your safe.

To enter the Master code you will need to follow this sequence:

  • You have been locked out due to entering an incorrect PIN code. Please wait until the three-minute countdown has expired and then re-enter the correct PIN code. If the batteries are flat, then you would need to hold the +9V battery on to the terminals whilst the display counts down from 3,2,1.

  • Your PIN code will remain the same until you go through the reset code procedure.

  • Press the programming button inside the safe, near the battery compartment. Type in your new code which can be between 4-12 digits. Then, press the programming button to complete.
