  • Linus L2 is suitable for doors with handles as well as doors with knobs or bars on the outside. It can not only lock and unlock your door but also open it. When opening the door the key is turned until the latch is pulled, allowing the door to be pushed open easily.
This distinction between the actions ”Open door” and ”Unlock” is particularly important for European door locks. Therefore, within the past months, we have actively worked within the Matter organizations to expand the Matter standard for European locks.

With success: While Matter 1.0 did not distinguish between the actions ”Open door” and ”Unlock”, both lock actions are implemented in the new Matter 1.2 standard.

  • Yes, your current Linus L2 can be used with Matter after a simple firmware upgrade.

  • We recommend up to 15 meters of indoor range.

  • In many cases, Matter eliminates the need for multiple hubs and bridges by allowing devices to communicate directly. However, if you have older devices that rely on specific hubs (e.g., Zigbee or Z-Wave), you may still need those bridges to control them.

  • No, you do not need to give direct access to Matter itself to your guests.

  • With the Smart Home app, you can lock and unlock your Linus L2 and check lock status or battery state.
