  • I cannot lock my safe.

  • I have forgotten my PIN code

    If you have forgotten your code, use the manual override key to open the safe and re-set the code, by pressing the ‘enter’ and ‘key’ buttons on the safe.

  • What happens if I lock my keys in the safe or lose my keys?

    Replacement keys can be ordered via your local Yale store online. Please write in the number of your key e.g. for the model Y-MS, the key number can be found by removing the key cover plate and the code is either six digits, begins with a ‘J’ or a ‘G’.

  • The safe is not accepting my new code, what can I do?

    Please make sure you are completing the set code procedure until it displays ‘good’, remembering that if you have opened the safe with the key you also have to lock it with the key, from then on using the code as usual.

  • I can’t set my code; I simply get the ‘ERROR’ message on the screen. Why is this?

    To set the code successfully, press the ‘ENTER’ key and ‘3’ simultaneously. It is easiest to first press and hold down the ‘ENTER’ button then press ‘3’ with your other hand. The ’SET CODE’ message will appear on the LCD screen, and you can go ahead and set the code in the normal manner.

  • Please remember that if you have opened the safe with the key, you also have to lock it with the key, from then on using the code as usual. If the safe has been opened by the electronic (code) method, that to lock the safe door, you need to press the ‘ENTER’ and ‘key’ to electronically secure the safe.

For the ‘Y-SV’ model of safe, there will be a three or four digit code (under the Yale cover plate). These will then be posted out to you within 3-5 working days. The only exception is ‘G’  type keys, these have a 6-8 week lead time.
