How to Adjust Yale View Chime Settings
Adjust the functionality of your doorbell chime using the Yale Access App. You will find the Chime Settings associated with your Yale View doorbell camera by following the steps below:
- Select Chime Settings in the HOUSE SETTINGS screen associated with your Doorbell and Chime
At the top of the of the Chime Settings screen, find the name of the Chime that you used during Doorbell setup. If you wish to change the name of your Chime you will need to Factory Reset the Chime and setup the Chime again:
- Select the side menu
- Select Set up a Device
- Select Set up a Chime
Within the Chime settings screen you can adjust the following functionality:
Motion activity panel
- Indicator Light - Switch turns on or off the light under the Yale logo when the View Doorbell Camera senses a motion event.
- Motion Activity Sound - Allows the selection of the sound that the Chime generates when the View Doorbell Camera senses a motion event. It is recommended that you choose unique sounds for motion and doorbell press events to avoid confusion and unnecessary visits to your door!
Doorbell press panel:
- Indicator Light - Switch turns on or off the light under the Yale logo when the View Doorbell button is pressed.
- Motion Activity Sound - Allows the selection of the sound that the Chime generates when the View Doorbell button is pressed. It is recommended that you choose unique sounds for motion and doorbell press events to avoid confusion and unnecessary visits to your door!
Utility panel:
- Factory Reset - Resets the Yale Chime and reverts all settings to default factory settings. You would typically use this function if you wish to rename the Chime or when you want to pair the Chime with a new Yale View doorbell.
- Speaker Volume - This changes the volume of audio alerts associated with your Yale View Doorbell using the Chime as a remote speaker.
The Chime Settings page also contains an information panel that displays the following:
- Serial Number - The serial number associated with the chime, this information is typically needed when communicating with Yale technical support.
- Doorbell Connection - The Yale View Doorbell Camera that is associated with the Chime listed at the top of the Chime Settings page.
