  • How to Install the Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint onto your property.

    There are two ways to mount the Yale Smart Keypad 2 onto your property. You can use the adhesive pad or the screw fittings that are supplied in the box. 

    Note - You can select and view the complete installation guides within the Yale Home application when setting up the keypad. 

  • How do I power on the Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint?

    The Yale Smart Keypad 2 will automatically power on when inserting the batteries. 

    Note- The same applies if you ever want to power off the keypad permanently, remove the batteries.

  • What is the expected battery life of the Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint?

    The expected battery life is 6 months.

  • How to Disconnect a Yale Smart Keypad 2

    You must be within Bluetooth range of the keypad in order to disconnect the device from the lock.

    1. Open the Yale Home App
    2. Tap the gear in the icon bar and select keypad settings.
    3. Select reset keypad found under Utilities. to begin the reset.
    4. You will see a successfully reset message on the screen, this completes the disconnection process and your keypad is no longer connected to your lock.

    Resetting a Yale Smart keypad 2 will delete all entry codes affiliated with that keypad.

  • How do I replace the batteries in the Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint?

    The Yale Smart Keypad 2 requires 4 x AAA batteries. We recommend replacing all batteries each time the batteries are replaced.

    1. Push in the tab at the bottom of the keypad to release the keypad from the back panel, this will give you access to the battery compartment built into the rear of the keypad.

    2. Remove the old batteries and Insert 4 brand new AAA batteries

  • How to Update the Firmware on your Yale Smart Keypad 2

    To update your Yale Smart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint firmware please perform the following steps:

    • Open the Yale Home App when you’re within Bluetooth range of the keypad and go to the lock status screen for the lock the keypad is connected to.

    • If there is an update available you will be prompted with the keypad firmware update alert, tap “start”.

    • Remain on the update screen until the update is complete.

  • What do I do if I reach my Entry code or Fingerprint limit?

    The Entry code limit for the Yale Smart Keypad 2 is 220 unique codes. The Fingerprint limit is 10. 

    Once the limit is reached, existing codes or Fingerprints will need to be removed to make room for new ones.

    Note - After deleting a code or Fingerprint, it is helpful to refresh the keychain to push changes as they are made.

  • How to Reset the Yale Smart Keypad 2?

    In order to complete these actions, you need to be within Bluetooth range of your keypad,

    PLEASE NOTE: You need to be an Owner of the keypad to be able to Reset it. 

    1. Open the Yale Home App.
    2. Tap the gear in the icon bar and select keypad Settings.
    3. Select Reset keypad found under Utilities (you may need to scroll down the list).
    4. Select Reset, The keypad will then be reset.
    5. You will see a successfully reset message on the screen, this completes the disconnection process and your keypad is no longer connected to your lock.
  • "Cannot Connect to Lock" Error Message When Creating A Personal Entry Code

    If a Yale Wi-Fi bridge is linked to the Smart Lock, or the Yale Smart lock has built in Wi-Fi a lock owner can remotely change personal entry codes for the Yale Smart Keypad 2. Without a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge (or Lock with built-in Wi-Fi) If you try to create an entry code remotely "Cannot Connect to Lock" will pop up in the Yale Home app.

    Without a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge (or Lock with built in Wi-Fi), personal entry codes can only be created when you are connected to your Yale Smart Lock via Bluetooth.
