  • How do I Factory Reset my Yale Smart Opener

    Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset on your Yale Smart Opener:

    1. On your phone, open the Yale Home App and go to the lock circle screen, which is the screen that shows you whether your door is locked or unlocked.
    2. Select the Settings menu (gear icon).
    3. Select the device you wish to reset.
    4. Scroll to factory reset.
    5. Select "Reset".

  • Updating the Yale Smart Opener Firmware

    Firmware updates are released periodically to help improve connection speed, connection reliability, controls, and Auto-Open/Close.

    Firmware updates begin automatically when the owner connects to their Yale Smart Opener. You can still operate your Yale Smart Opener via the app during the update. Firmware updates can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Be sure to keep your phone near your Yale Smart Opener, with the Yale app open throughout the entire update.

  • What happens if the batteries on the Yale Door Position Sensor run flat?

    The Yale Home App will notify you in advance if the batteries are running low (when the batteries are at 25%), giving you an opportunity to replace them before they run out of charge. Should the battery completely run out of charge on the Yale Door Position Sensor, the Yale Smart opener will still continue to function but the state of the door position will not be accurate.

    The expected battery life of the Door Position Sensor (DPS) is approximately 3 Years
